Install Tips

• Old Skid Frame Disassembly: Use your micro phillips cross screwdriver to remove the small retention screws locking the damaged skid legs into the bottom of the fuselage; pull out the broken framework from its structural tracking channels.

• Chassis Slot Insertion and Alignment: Align the upper mounting pins of the new black C184 landing gear frame with the matching slots on the bottom of the helicopter fuselage; push the legs up firmly into the tracks until they seat completely flat and square with the centerline.

• Securing the Base Mounting Fasteners: Thread the factory retention screws back through the mounting eyes on the lower frame; tighten until snug, but avoid over-torquing into the plastic belly hull to prevent stripping out the internal tracking threads.

• Optical Flow Sensor Clearance Verification: Set the reassembled MD530 helicopter down onto a flat, level workspace pad; inspect the underside from eye level to confirm that the landing gear skids run perfectly parallel and that the downward-facing optical flow camera has a completely unobstructed view of the surface before starting your next flight.
