2pcs Replacement Main Transmission Drive Gear Set for RC ERA C184 MD530

Fix Stripped Teeth, Stop Grinding Noises, and Restore Efficient Motor Power Transmission

During intense flights, sudden collective pitch shifts, or minor rotor blade strikes, the main transmission gear bears the brunt of the motor's high torque. Over time, friction can strip or wear down the plastic teeth, leading to slipping, loud grinding noises, or a complete loss of rotor spin. For the 1/48 scale RC ERA C184 MD530, a compromised main gear causes irregular head speeds, which directly disrupts the optical flow positioning data and spoils flight stability. This factory-original 2-piece main gear replacement set provides a clean, perfect tooth profile, instantly restoring tight gear meshing and locking back in smooth, quiet power delivery.  Ships worldwide.

Product Highlights

  • Convenient 2-Piece Maintenance Pack: Includes two identical factory-fresh main gears, giving you an immediate replacement and a spare for your field repair toolbox.

  • Premium Wear-Resistant White Nylon: Molded from high-density, low-friction nylon composite that handles high RPMs and heavy thermal buildup without stripping its teeth.

  • Precision Hollow Core Geometry: Features a specialized 6-hole hollow design to significantly reduce rotational inertia and overall weight without sacrificing gear structural integrity.

  • Flawless Factory Mesh Pitch: Engineered with exact tooth tolerances to mesh perfectly with the motor pinion gear, lowering drivetrain drag and maximizing battery flight times.

Compatibility

For the RC ERA C184 MD530 only.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 x RC ERA C184 Main Gear

Install Tips

  • Accessing the Main Gearbox Casing: Disassemble the mid-frame body screws to carefully split the fuselage and expose the central main shaft; slide out the worn or damaged white gear from the lower transmission housing.

  • Shaft Insertion and Pinion Alignment: Slide the new white C184 main gear onto the steel main rotor shaft; ensure the raised center collar hub seats properly against the lower bearing lock.

  • Calibrating Gear Mesh Backlash: When securing the motor mount, adjust the spacing so there is a microscopic sliver of play (backlash) between the nylon gear teeth and the metal motor pinion; setting it too tight will overheat the motor and damage the electronics speed controller.

  • Pre-Flight Balance Bench Check: Place your reassembled helicopter onto a flat, non-slip technical pad and rotate the main blades by hand to verify smooth movement; spin up the motor slowly to ensure the airframe runs vibration-free, allowing the downward optical flow sensor camera to track ground data cleanly.
