Volantex F4U Vertical Fin Tail Section Rudder for 500mm Brushless RC Plane

Fix Broken Tail Fins, Eliminate Rudder Flutter, and Regain Precise Yaw Control During High-Speed Flights

The vertical tail stabilizer and rudder are absolutely critical for keeping your warbird tracking straight and executing clean, scale-like banking turns. Because the vertical fin protrudes high above the rear fuselage, it is highly susceptible to cracking, snapping, or tearing off during inverted landings, cartwheel crashes, or rough transport to the flying field. Flying with a loose, dented, or taped-up vertical stabilizer causes severe aerodynamic drag, uncontrollable tail wagging, and rudder lag that can easily trick the onboard flight stabilization gyro into over-correcting, leading to a fatal spiral dive. Replacing your fractured rear stabilizer with this factory-original vertical fin assembly completely eliminates tail instability, restores smooth yaw authority, and returns your classic Corsair to its flawless factory-fresh military profile.

Product Highlights

  • Pre-Assembled Integrated Design: Includes the complete vertical stabilizer fin pre-hinged to the operational control rudder panel as shown, saving you from tedious hinge taping.

  • Authentic Two-Tone Paint Finish: Injection-molded in matching light navy and dark blue colors to seamlessly align with your stock stock Volantex 500mm F4U graphics without extra painting.

  • High-Density Resilient EPP Foam: Combines a crash-durable, flex-resistant EPP foam upper core with a hardened composite reinforcement frame at the base to withstand high-G aerodynamic loads.

  • Pre-Molded Scale Detailing: Features authentic surface panel lines and structural rib indentations molded right into the control surface to mimic a real full-scale Corsair warbird.

Compatibility

What’s in the Box

  • 1* Volantex F4U Vertical Fin

Install Tips

  • Removing the Damaged Tail section: Carefully slice away any remaining foam shards or glue residue from the upper rear slot of the fuselage tail section; ensure the mounting channel is clean, dry, and flat.

  • Aligning the Base Spline: Take the vertical fin assembly; dry-fit the bottom insertion rail straight down into the fuselage tail alignment track.

  • Securing with Foam Safe Glue: Apply a thin, even layer of foam-safe medium CA glue or contact cement to the bottom contact plastic and foam tabs; press the vertical fin down firmly into the channel, holding it perfectly perpendicular (90 degrees) to the horizontal stabilizer until the adhesive cures completely.

  • Connecting the Pushrod Linkage: Once the tail section is rigidly locked, snap the steel rudder pushrod clevis into the factory control horn socket located near the bottom hinge cutout; run a pre-flight radio check to ensure the rudder deflects evenly left and right without binding.
