Install Tips

• Accessing the Engine Compartment: Carefully peel open or unscrew the foam nose cowling of your P-51D Mustang to expose the damaged gearbox unit; slide the old motor out of its mounting rear sleeve.

• Aligning the Drive Pinion to the Spur Gear: Before securing the new gearbox (as shown, slide your small coreless motor into the rear cylindrical bracket; ensure the brass pinion gear on the motor shaft aligns smoothly with the teeth of the white main gear without pressing too tightly.

• Securing the Gearbox to the Fuselage: Insert the complete gearbox assembly into the internal foam alignment tracks in the nose; secure it with the factory micro screws using the pre-molded mounting eyelets to prevent any axial play.

• Reattaching the Propeller and Test Spinning: Slide the propeller saver adapter back onto the notched stainless steel shaft; spin the prop by hand to ensure the gearbox turns freely without binding before powering on your transmitter to run a low-throttle test.
