RC ERA C138 Verlies van Vermogen en Knipperen: Eerste Controles

If your RC ERA C138 loses power and its light flashes rapidly, end the flight session. After shutdown, check the battery and its connection, and note whether you had flown several times in a row. These are the starting points in KTL’s C138 FAQ; the flashing light alone does not identify the cause. [1]

This guide covers the standard red/blue RC ERA C138. Owners of the separate C138 Pro should use their model’s instructions. [2]

Did it stop after flying, or never start?

It never responded after switch-on: record which light flashes and the order in which you switched on the aircraft and transmitter. Check the startup and binding instructions supplied with your exact radio. This needs to be distinguished from a loss of power during use.

It responded or flew, then lost power: note roughly how long it ran, which battery you used and whether this followed several flights. Then work through the checks below. [1]

Three checks before your next flight

1. Stop and inspect the battery

Once the helicopter is on the ground, wait for the rotors to stop and follow its shutdown instructions before handling it. Avoid repeated restarts to get another flight out of the pack.

If the battery is swollen, damaged or has damaged wires or connectors, stop using and charging it. Let an undamaged battery cool to room temperature before charging. [3] If the power loss followed several flights in a row, mention that to support: KTL’s FAQ includes overheating as a possible cause. [1]

2. Check the connection with the power off

Look for a loose battery connection, corrosion or visible damage. Check that the battery fits securely, following the supplied instructions. If a plug is damaged or corroded, send support a photo before doing more. Do not force it, scrape the contacts or touch the terminals with metal tools. [1] [3]

3. Check charging and battery history

Did charging finish according to your charger’s instructions? Use the supplied or explicitly approved charger, stay with the battery while it charges and keep it away from flammable materials. Check the instructions for that charger’s indicator lights. [3]

A “charged” indication does not rule out a battery problem. KTL’s FAQ notes that an ageing pack can lose voltage under load and trigger low-voltage protection. Tell support if earlier use showed the problem with just one battery or with several compatible packs; do not fly again to test this. [1]

KTL lists the standard C138 battery as 7.4V 350mAh. Before ordering a replacement, ask support to confirm the exact C138 pack. Matching voltage and capacity alone is not a compatibility check. [1]

Can I fly again once the light stops flashing?

A full charge, a cooler aircraft or a light that stops flashing does not confirm that the problem is fixed. If you have not established why it lost power, contact KTL support before flying again. Do not try to recreate a power loss in the air.

What to send support

Email support@kidstoylover.com with:

  • A photo of the model label, battery label, connector and charger label. Say which items are replacements.
  • Whether the helicopter never started or lost power after responding or flying, and roughly how long it ran.
  • Which light flashed, any transmitter warning, and whether this followed repeated flights or an impact.
  • Any video you already have and clear photos with the power off. Do not hold the helicopter with its rotors running to film the problem.

If a replacement is needed, use the C138 spare-parts collection with support’s help to match the part.
